The Advertising Geography of Canada

Canada is a vast country whose population of 31,559,186 is principally concentrated along the border with the United States. According to Nielsen Media Research, the top reporting areas for broadcast ratings in Canada are: Calgary, Montreal, Ontario, Toronto/Hamilton and Vancouver. Within these top five areas are 56 Designated Market Areas (DMAs), which are centered around major metro areas in Canada's ten provinces and three territories.
